Torquay and Teignbridge Stamp Club is a friendly and welcoming club for people who share an interest in all aspects of collecting stamps and postal history, and anything else to do with the hobby of philately. The original Torquay Philatelic Society first met on 5th February 1921, and the first register of members was made on 20th November 1921, and we were very proud to celebrate our Centenary, although the Covid lockdown meant that we couldn’t do as much as we would have wished. You can see our Centenary page here.
We are affiliated to both the Wessex Federation of Philatelic Societies and the Association of British Philatelic Societies.
In 2023 we were very pleased to welcome the Philatelic Congress of Great Britain to Torquay. Congress hadn’t been held in Torquay since 1959, and we were delighted to have them back and to be able to help put on the event, and contribute some material for display. You can visit our Congress 2023 page here. (when we’ve built the page, that is !!!)
We cater for philatelists and collectors of all persuasions, and all levels of experience (beginner to expert) and many of our members are also members of specialist societies and study groups. This means that our programme is always interesting and varied, with club nights featuring a mixture of visiting speakers, members’ displays, and club competitions
Visitors are always welcome at our meetings, which generally take place at St. Michael’s Church Hall in Kingsteignton, on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. You can see the current Programme and how to find us here.
Please note that the Club cannot, and does not, give valuations.
